Hall Information
E. J. Thomas Hall is located on the corner of University Avenue and Hill Street on The University of Akron’s campus in downtown Akron. Access to the building is available one hour prior to curtain time and the auditorium opens one-half hour before curtain time.
Restrooms
Public restrooms are located in Robertson Lobby. The Ladies Room can be accessed from the odd side of the building and the Men’s Room access is from the even side. The center stairs in Robertson Lobby lead to both restrooms.
Handicap restrooms are located at the bottom of both ramps on the even and odd sides of the building.
Food and Beverage Service
A full service bar and concession stand are located in the building’s center lobby, Robertson Lobby. The Concession Stand offers soft drinks, bottled water, coffee, beer, wine, snacks and candy before the performance and at intermission.
Desserts, baked goods and a wide variety of hot and cold beverages are available in the EJCafé, located in Herberich Lobby on the second level of the odd side of the building. Café tables may be reserved for intermission at most performances by placing a food and beverage order at the Café counter before the performance.
The Goodrich Lobby concession stand is open for selected performances. Soft drinks, coffee, candy, snacks and baked goods are among the offerings. This lobby is located on the second level on the even side of the building.
Public Telephones
Public telephones are located downstairs between the restrooms, off Robertson Lobby. Telephones are also located in our Ticket Office Lobby and McCormick Lobby. Both of these phones are handicap accessible.
Information Counter
The Information Counter is located in the McCormick Lobby, located adjacent to the Ticket Office. The counter is manned by an attendant, who is available to assist you with your questions and concerns.
Our assisted listening system, the Williams Personal PA Receiver, may be obtained at this location.
The Information Counter also serves as our lost and found department during events.
Physically Challenged Patrons
E. J. Thomas Hall is handicapped accessible. Information regarding particular needs is important to us. If you feel it necessary, please advise us of your type of impairment, the size of a wheelchair, (if applicable), if you prefer to use our theater seats or will you be remaining in your own chair, etc. The ticket office will pass this information on to our Patron Services Manager. Anytime during your visit to the Hall, please feel free to ask for assistance or guidance from the ushers, ticket office or event staff.
E. J. Thomas Hall has Orchestra and Grand Tier seating for patrons in wheelchairs or with special needs. Adjacent seating for a companion is also available in both areas. To make reservations, call the Ticket Office at 330/972-7570 and request wheelchair seating. Due to a limited number of handicapped seats, we suggest you purchase tickets well in advance.

Handicapped parking is available in the parking deck. A valid permit must be displayed.
Assertive Listening System
A special sound system for the hearing impaired, Williams Personal PA Receiver is available at the information counter in McCormick Lobby, free of charge.
Sign Interpreted
Interpreters will be provided for appropriate Thomas Hall sponsored events upon request. Advanced reservations are required at least three weeks before the performance. For further information on seating arrangements and reservations, please contact the Thomas Hall Patron Services Manager at 330/972-6572.
EJCafé
The EJCafé, located in the Herberich Lobby is open one hour before most performances and at intermission. The menu features elegant desserts, light savory fare, a wide variety of hot and cold beverages and a recently expanded wine list. The
EJCafé is available for private parties after most performances. For information contact our Concessions Manager at 330/972-6494. Gift certificates for the
EJCafé are available at the Thomas Hall Ticket Office.
EJCafé Pre-Order
Save time at intermission by pre-ordering before the performance. The Café offers a "preorder" service that allows patrons to select refreshments before the show and enjoy them at a reserved table during intermission. |
